The Île de la Pointe-aux-Loups is the smallest inhabited island and has only one small township of about fifty houses. On the north side of the island, you will find a small fishing harbour and a beautiful beach. On the south side, there are a lagoon and a quay with a launching ramp for small boats. If you are interested in palaeontology, archaeology or shellfish farming, La Maison du Héron proposes a collection of artefacts that belonged to the Amerindians who lived in the islands some thousands of years ago.
On the Île de la Pointe-aux-Loups, the Dune du Nord and Pointe-aux-Loups beaches are ones of the most beautiful beaches on the Islands and are easily accessible. However, they are also the most dangerous ones when at high tide and during windy days. Be careful because these beaches are subject to very strong currents, which can pull you off the coast.
