The refuge du Rocher-aux-Oiseaux is a rock located 32 kilometres northeast of Grosse-Île. Because the rock is rather steep, it is difficult to reach. Even though a lighthouse and its outbuildings are still visible, nobody inhabits this island anymore since the facilities have been automated, except for birds.
So many of them made this island their home throughout the years. During a boat excursion, amateur ornithologists can observe Northern gannets, small pinguins, thick-billed murres and many more bird species.
