This island, which is located 16 kilometres from Grosse-Île, was once inhabited by a few families of the Îles de la Madeleine. After the last families left, the Islanders never returned, except in summer during the fishing season.
This island is difficult to reach and can be very dangerous when strong winds are blowing. Since the 1970s, nobody lives on the island anymore. Real outdoor lovers, with an authorization, can visit the island or spend a short stay to observe the ecological diversity of the Islands. You might as well see some of the 140 bird species.
