The Île de Grande Entrée is the last island that has been inhabited permanently and was named the Quebec’s lobster capital in 1994. At the tip of Grande Entrée, you will find a fishing harbour, shops and Madelimer, a fish processing factory. You will also find a restaurant that serves seafood and fish, as well as gift shops.
In the Baie de Grande Entrée, you can visit a blue mussels breeding, similar to the one located in the lagoon of Havre-aux-Maisons. The Club vacances Les Îles, located near the Bassin aux Huîtres, offers outdoor, natural environment discovery and ornithology activities, as well as guided hikes in the réserve nationale de faune de la Pointe-de-l’Est. You can also visit the Centre d’interprétation du phoque to attend the multimedia representation on ice banks or hike up to Île Boudreau where you will discover an isolated place with beaches and small paths.
