Here is a general idea of the water sports that can be done on the Îles de la Madeleine. Because the Islands are surrounded by water and wind is constantly blowing on them, outdoor and water sports have the place of honour.
In many places on the Islands, visitors can leave for a few hours or for a complete day on an excursion at sea. Boat and inflatable dinghies are usually the favourite choices for these excursions. However, for cave and cliff observation, and to get nearer the marine wildlife, sea and river kayak excursions are really sought-after.
The most adventurous people will certainly try water sports like windsurfing, power kite and kitesurf. Handling these sailing instruments certainly request some balance and patience, but once we learn the technique, the result is thrilling.
